HHML- Facility Scholar

Defining What It Means as an HHML - Facility Scholar

What does it mean to be an HHML- facility scholar? The HMMI acronym stands for the Howard Hughes Medical Institute. It is an institute which has a strong belief in giving power to individuals. They know and expect their faculty to come with creative minds and an appetite to look to new research, new scientific methods. The goal is to empower these individuals to take science where it has not gone before. By using research and education, discoveries can be made that will help humanity today, and tomorrow.

One of the scholars and members of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute is none other than John Rinn, HHML- facility scholar, from the Rinn Lab. His team continues to push learnings of RNA and specifically the long noncoding RNA sequences, identifying them and determining their functions.
